MP Wamboka Vows To Pursue Further Prospects If Select Committee Saves CS Linturi
Agriculture CS Mithika Linturi’s impeachment process was started by Bumula MP Jack Wamboka, who reiterated his opinion that Linturi ought to be removed from office.
These remarks were stated by Wamboka in his parting remarks at the County Hall during Linturi’s impeachment hearing.
The recently elected MP expressed his dissatisfaction with the Select Committee, speculating that the committee was unlikely to recommend the CS’s impeachment despite the significant allegations made against him.
“I, Wanami Wamboka, have made an effort, honourable members, Kenyan farmers, and the general public. Remember, Kenyan farmers will always remember this Select Committee for as long as they live on this planet.
The Select Committee is just one of the numerous ways to kill a rat. We are committed to the Kenyan farmer, thus we will move forward before this. He declared, “Mithika Linturi needs to use fake fertilizer.”
Wamboka stressed that even though CS Linturi was in the highest position in the ministry, he was dodging accountability for the fake fertilizer issue.
“When things are going well, the Minister (Linturi) thumps his chest and declares, ‘I’ve done it, I deserve to be commended.'” But he claims, “It wasn’t me,” when things go wrong.
He asked the eleven-person team to consider the challenging circumstances faced by Kenyan farmers who, without realizing it, had purchased thousands of bags of fake fertilizer from the National Cereals and Produce Board (NCPB).
“Please remember that farmers are hurting and that they are crying. Even if you may choose to ignore it, God still exists. In terrible times, God will hear humanity’s prayers and answer them.
Mighty folks have been observed by us. They have caused suffering to humanity. Although their chest thumping was observed, where did they go? There are many items in the list.
On Friday, May 10, the Agriculture CS Mithika Linturi’s three-day impeachment hearing came to an end. The accused Linturi is anticipated to make his concluding argument as well.
The Select Committee will then get together for a weekend retreat to discuss and make a conclusion.
The committee will present its report to Parliament for approval on Monday, May 13. The report will be given to President William Ruto for his approval of the impeachment if they want to remove CS Linturi.
