Boda Boda Operator Arrested For Housing Two Missing School Girls In Kirinyaga
A boda boda driver from Kerugoya, Kirinyaga County, has been taken into custody for allegedly hiding two girls who were reported missing by their relatives more than a month ago.
The sisters were staying with the suspect in a leased residence in Kiatha village. The suspect is presently being arrested at Kerugoya Police Station pending arraignment on Monday.
Their father, John Munene Muriuki, reported their sisters—one in Form Three and the other in Form Four—missing.
“I had reported the matter to the area assistant chief regarding my missing daughters, and I’m fortunate to have discovered who was sheltering them and providing them with money to stay in his rented house at Kiatha village,” Muriuki stated to Citizen Digital.
“I was taken aback to see some of my belongings at the man’s home. It seems that when my daughters vanished, they removed a few items from my home. I want this man held accountable for deceiving my girls.”
To find out if the suspect sexually abused them, tests will be administered to the sisters.
Where is Kimandi? Since then, Chief Ruth Nduro has issued a warning to the men in the region against preying on schoolgirls, emphasizing that severe consequences will follow.
“When the law catches up with you, you will get a long sentence, so proceed with caution,” she said.
