Cole Palmer Wins Premier League Player of the Month crown
After the Blues scored seven goals in four Premier League games in April, Cole Palmer was named the league’s Player of the Month.
The 22-year-old won the award after a month in which he scored two brutal goals at Stamford Bridge and earned an assist away at Sheffield United.
In our thrilling 4-3 victory over Manchester United, Palmer scored an incredible hat-trick, which included an equalizer and the game-winning goal in stoppage time in the second half.
He then set up Noni Madueke’s goal away at Sheffield United. The England international’s most commanding performance in blue occurred when Everton paid a visit to Stamford Bridge.
Palmer scored his fourth goal from the penalty spot in the second half after completing a flawless hat-trick in under 29 minutes, the earliest in Premier League history.
That made Palmer, who previously joined Gianluca Vialli, Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink, and Frank Lampard as the only Chelsea players to score four goals in a Premier League match.
Palmer was victorious from a competitive Player of the Month shortlist that featured Jordan Pickford of Everton, Kai Havertz of Arsenal, Bruno Fernandes of Manchester United, Jean-Philippe Mateta of Crystal Palace, and Josko Gvardiol of Man City as center backs.
