How to Join Kenya Red Cross Rescue Team
On Sunday, April 28, the Kenya Red Cross replied to Kenyans wishing to become members of the organization, stating that spots were available for everyone who was interested.
This occurs at a time when floods are affecting the majority of the nation and demand quick action.
The Kenya Red Cross is working in conjunction with important government organizations to rescue nearly 20,000 households that have been forced to flee due to the intense rain.
Those wishing to join the rescue squad were advised by Kenya Red Cross to “visit the nearest Kenya Red Cross branch and sign up.”
Note that there is no monthly compensation for members of the rescue team; this is a volunteer position.
According to Kenya Red Cross, “having no desire to gain anything from their actions and being selfless is one of the most important traits of a volunteer.”
Participants in the program are expected to improve the lives of individuals in need in order to support the humanitarian efforts of the organization.
Qualifications for Volunteering with the Kenya Red Cross Rescue Team
The Kenya Red Cross accepts applications from anyone and does not discriminate based on nationality.
It is the volunteers’ duty to follow the code of conduct established by the Kenya Red Cross Society.
According to Kenya Red Cross, candidates “must conduct themselves with integrity and honesty and display a committed and positive attitude while performing their assigned tasks.”
Additionally, volunteers must take part in any training that the society deems essential.
Finally, volunteers must respect the rights, convictions, and viewpoints of the recipients.
