Officers from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) in Nyali, Mombasa County, are currently delving into a perplexing case surrounding a 35-year-old man who purportedly leaped from the fourth floor of a multi-story building.
Alert from the Caretaker
The investigation was initiated after the caretaker of the apartment complex made a distress call, reporting the alarming incident to authorities.
Eyewitness Account
Upon reaching the scene, officers gathered information from the shaken caretaker, who recounted the shocking sight of a fellow tenant plummeting to the ground.
“The caretaker of the apartment within the Kadzandani area described the harrowing moment when he witnessed a figure landing on the ground below, only to discover it was one of his residents,” detectives disclosed.
Startling Revelation from the Wife
Further inquiries led detectives to speak with the man’s wife, who disclosed that her husband had taken the drastic step upon spotting three individuals at their doorstep.
“According to the wife, she heard a knock at the door, prompting her husband to hastily retreat from view and leap from the balcony,” shared the DCI officers.

Following the incident, the three individuals fled the scene, evading apprehension before concerned neighbors could intervene.
Survival Amidst Injuries
Despite the severity of the fall, the man miraculously survived but sustained multiple fractures and was promptly rushed to Coast General Hospital for urgent medical attention.
