Six ODM lawmakers who supported the Finance Bill 2024 in Parliament are set to be called back, according to the party’s announcement.
The MPs’ actions were in opposition to the party’s stance on the withdrawn Bill, as stated in a statement issued after the Central Committee meeting on Tuesday, July 2.
Elisha Odhiambo, a member of parliament, is one of the individuals impacted.
Gideon Ochanda (Bondo), Emmanuel Wangwe (Navakholo), and Caroli Omondi (Suba South) are all scheduled for recall.

Kanchory Memusi of Kajiado Central and Benard Masaka of Ikolomani are two more officials who are expected to be brought back for opposing the party line.
“Given the incumbent officials’ persistent disregard for the electorate’s wishes and their holy oath, the ODM Party will launch and oversee recall efforts in the following constituencies. A portion of the statement included, “Gem, Bondo, Navakholo, Kajiado Central, Ikolomani, and Suba South.”
However, in light of the deaths of some protestors, the opposition party urged that President William Ruto issue an order for the police to cease using excessive force.
The party further requested that Ruto accept accountability for the property damage, injuries, and fatalities.
The party claimed that the youth-led demonstrations represented a vote of no confidence in the existing government.
However, the party said that as it also gets funding from the exchequer, it will also be implementing austerity measures.
We believe that the events of June 25, 2024, amounted to a vote of no confidence in the government. Ruto is completely unaware of this. His petty suggestions on how we should run our economy in the wake of his tax bill’s rejection show this.
“Instead of focusing on cutting wastage, opulence and corruption in his regime, he is hitting back with threats to cut funding for the Judiciary and the County Governments,” stated
