Oscar Sudi Hits Back At DP Gachagua, Asks Leaders To Shun Tribalism,Respect Each Other
Kapsaret MP Oscar Sudi responded to Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua’s remarks, cautioning against divisive politics and tribalism while advocating for mutual respect among leaders.
In apparent frustration, Gachagua accused President William Ruto’s allies of orchestrating political maneuvers in the Mt. Kenya region to disadvantage him in future succession plans.
Sudi, a staunch ally of Ruto, defended his right to travel across constituencies, emphasizing the importance of national engagement in government affairs.
“You cannot control where I go. If we all stayed in our respective constituencies then we would not be in government,” Sudi asserted, highlighting his commitment to nationwide engagements inherited from Ruto.
Referring to Ruto’s focus on national matters, Sudi pledged to continue fundraising for churches through Harambees, a tradition passed down to him by the Deputy President.
The exchange follows speculations of a rift between President Ruto and DP Gachagua, exacerbated by Gachagua’s absence from key state functions and subsequent claims of mistreatment in Nyeri.
Led by Nyeri Governor Mutahi Kahiga, allies of Gachagua voiced concerns over perceived mistreatment, vowing to protect his interests akin to Ruto’s treatment during his tenure as deputy president.
