Sonko Rescues Andrew Kibe From Angry Mob At Ngong Road Restaurant
Drama broke out during a continuing media interview featuring Andrew Kibe at a posh restaurant on Ngong Road when irate youth stormed the premises.
Kibe, a contentious online figure whose previous statements have brought him controversy, was interviewing former Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko when the young people barged in, disrupting the conversation and pushing their way over to where the two men were sitting.
The rowdy group, who were thought to be from Kibra, seemed to have a grudge against Kibe. He watched in confusion as they yelled at him, cursed at him, and provoked a violent altercation.
They were thought to have planned a surprise attack after discovering the interview through Kibe’s social media accounts.
The situation worsened to the point when one of the men threatened to hurt Kibe physically. This prompted the former City manager to step in quickly and try to defuse the heated argument. We have footage of him trying to accomplish this.
The young people seemed incensed by Kibe’s uninhibited opinions on a range of trending subjects, which have occasionally been perceived as misogynistic and demeaning.
The interview then went smoothly as the men’s tensions subsided and their feelings became more balanced.
During the conversation, the colorful politician revealed that he has been keeping a low profile and is currently unemployed. He was wearing a green Gucci sweater, matching cap, and loads of bling.
Sonko and Kibe famously got into a nasty social media spat last year after the former governor told Kibe to stop bringing up Sonko’s name on his YouTube show and interfering with his personal life.
Sonko had been upset at what he perceived to be Kibe’s attacks on several prominent Kenyan celebrities, especially those who were women.
“You’ve been heard. I’m not a moron. Stay away from my personal life. To me, I am a brand. I don’t have to flaunt it. Give up harassing women. You were harassing Bahati, a young man attempting to make a living, the other day. You assaulted Millicent Omanga, Karen Nyamu, and Kamene Goro. What is the matter with you? “You are a gossip,” Sonko continued angrily.
During the interview, however, the duo appeared to have shelved their differences and even shared drinks and light banter in the rare sit-down which was streamed live on Mike Sonko’s X account.
