The missing “Crazy Nairobian” Was freed thanks to LSK
Billy the Goat, an X influencer from Nairobi, was released on Saturday night, according to Faith Odhiambo, President of the Law Society of Kenya (LSK).
Odhiambo was with the young Kenyan who was allegedly detained by police for his participation in and position on the anti-Finance Bill 2024 demonstrations.
Billy expressed gratitude to LSK and other Kenyans who supported his release from the custody of the government.
“Thanks to everyone for keeping me safe and to LSK for saving my life. I’m good, fellas,” he said.
The LSK President stated that they were investigating his release following his wrongful detention and lack of presence at several police stations.
She went on to say that although they had been told earlier that Billy was at a specific place, he had not been located when they checked again. Later, she received a tip about Billy’s whereabouts, and the society took action to guarantee Billy’s release.
“I hope you can verify that this is Billy; I would like to make sure he is well. After receiving a notification earlier, we at LSK assumed Billy had been freed. However, upon sending a representative to the station, we discovered Billy was not present and had not been booked.”

“The moment we got a tip-off, we ran immediately to try and find Billy,” she said.
Billy went to X after being freed to express his gratitude to Odhiambo for going above and above to secure his safety and release.
Human rights organizations, other leaders, and X influencers applauded Odhiambo for making sure Billy was released safely.
Kenyans on X have been calling for his release ever since his detention. More than fifty thousand Kenyans gathered in an X area on Saturday to talk about Crazy Nairobi’s whereabouts.
Notably, since the nationwide protests over the contentious Finance Bill 2024 started last week, he and other young Kenyans have been detained.
